How to add a New arrival badge to Shopify products
Step-by-step guide to adding a New badge on recent Shopify products, with auto-expiry after a set number of days.
What you need
A Shopify store on any plan, an Online Store 2.0 theme, and Product Badges by Win-Win Apps installed.
Step 1. Turn on the app embed
Open your theme editor, find the Product Badges app embed in the app-embed sidebar, toggle on.
Step 2. Create the New badge
From the Product Badges dashboard, click “Add badge” and choose the New template. The default copy is “NEW” in a bright pill.
Step 3. Set targeting
Two options. Tag-based: target products with the “new-arrival” tag. Date-based: auto-target products created within the last N days (typically 14 or 30).
Step 4. Set auto-expiry
On the Pro plan, set the badge to auto-remove after N days. On the free plan, you manually untag once products are no longer new.
Step 5. Verify
Open a product created in the last N days on your storefront. Confirm the New badge appears on both the product page and the collection card.
