How to add a Bestseller badge to Shopify products
Mark your top-selling products with a Bestseller badge using a tag-based rule in Shopify.
Concept
Bestseller badges are tag-based, not dynamic. Most merchants manually tag their top 10-20 sellers and update the list monthly.
Step 1. Tag your bestsellers
In Shopify admin go to Products, use the Sales sort, select the top 10-20, bulk-add the tag “bestseller”.
Step 2. Create the badge
In Product Badges, add a new badge with text “BESTSELLER”, pick a gold or bold color, save.
Step 3. Target the tag
Set the targeting rule: show this badge on any product with the “bestseller” tag.
Step 4. Refresh monthly
Set a recurring calendar reminder to re-sort your products monthly and re-tag the top sellers.
Automation tip
Shopify Flow on Plus can auto-tag based on sales velocity, but the manual monthly approach works for most stores.
