How to add a country of origin badge to Shopify products
Display a Made In [country] badge on every product page. Full setup walkthrough for Shopify merchants.
Why origin matters
Shoppers for premium apparel, food, and crafts pay more when origin is clear. Shopify does not display origin natively.
Step 1. Install Made In
From the Shopify App Store. The app adds a theme app block for product and collection pages.
Step 2. Tag your products
In Shopify admin, add tags like “origin-usa”, “origin-italy”, “origin-japan” to each product.
Step 3. Map tags in Made In
Open the Made In dashboard and map each tag to a country. The app pulls the flag automatically.
Step 4. Turn on the app block
In the theme editor, add the Made In block to your product template. Position near the product title.
Step 5. Customize
Pick flag size, label style (“Made In”, “Crafted In”, custom), and placement.
Step 6. Verify
Open a tagged product and confirm the badge shows correctly.
