Who this guide is for

Any Shopify merchant on Starter, Basic, Grow or Advanced who wants to give a customer store credit, without upgrading to Shopify Plus.

Step 1. Install the app

From the Shopify App Store, search for “Win-Win Store Credit” and click Install. The app provisions the customer metafields it needs on your shop, no manual setup.

Step 2. Open a customer

From your Shopify admin go to Customers, then pick the customer you want to credit. At the top of the customer page you will see a new Win-Win Store Credit card showing their current balance (zero if new).

Step 3. Issue credit

Click “Issue credit” on the card. Enter the amount in your store currency, add an optional internal note (“refund for order 1034”, “loyalty gift”, whatever you like), and confirm.

The customer will receive an email notification that their balance has been updated. You can customize the email template in the app settings.

Step 4. Customer redeems at checkout

The next time that customer logs in and places an order, their available credit is applied automatically as a discount line at checkout. If the credit covers the order, their payment is zero. If not, the remainder is charged as normal.

They do not need to copy any code.

Step 5. Refund an order to store credit

When processing a refund in Shopify admin, open Bulk Store Credit alongside it and issue the refund amount as credit to that customer. The amount is added to the customer’s balance and the customer gets an email.

Bulk tools

The free plan supports CSV uploads up to 10 rows. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited CSV rows. Upload a CSV of customer emails and amounts to issue credit to many customers at once. Useful for loyalty pushes, apology gestures, or one-time retention campaigns.

Audit log

The dashboard shows every credit issue and redemption with timestamp, amount, and admin user. This is useful for accounting and for double-checking customer support conversations.

What happens if I uninstall

Your balances are stored on Shopify customer metafields, which you can export as CSV at any time. If you reinstall the app, balances are restored automatically.
