A New badge is cheap merchandising. It highlights recent arrivals without changing your product layout, and it creates urgency for shoppers who want to be first.
Look for three things: auto-expiry so you are not manually removing badges, collection targeting, and whether the free plan actually lets you use it.
Product Badges by Win-Win Apps is the most generous on the free tier. Badgify is the runner-up if you want a richer template library and have the budget.
Most stores use 14 to 30 days. A typical workflow is to tag new products on upload, target your badge by that tag, and untag after the window passes.
Yes. Every modern badge app supports collection targeting. Create the New badge, target it at your "New Arrivals" collection, done.
Third-party tests suggest a 3 to 8 percent lift in click-through on New-tagged products versus untagged equivalents. The bigger effect is from drawing attention to products that would otherwise blend into the grid.
Every app has a real free tier. Install in minutes.
